Starting now create a smile on your face, it will probably last if you think about it often. Using humor to keep a positive attitude will make you feel so good and at the end of the day you will feel fulfilled for that less uptight attitude. It all started with a smile.
Who sets the attitude, the climate for you each day? Who or what determines if you will have a good day or a bad day? The truth is; we should be the one setting our attitude each day.
Most of us only tend to live our lives at about 50% of our potential. In other words, we’re doing only half the things we could be doing. In fact, I’ll put it even more bluntly. The lives most of us are missing out on are the goals, hopes and desires that we REALLY want and need to make our lives more complete and worthwhile. And those are the ones that require confidence so we can enable ourselves to have a go at achieving something which we can later look back on with contentment and, as a result, greater confidence.
Every now and then you’ll come across one of those people… You know the type; whatever your dreams, hopes or desires, they will tear them down; attempt to destroy every positive thought you ever had or ridicule you for being ‘unrealistic’. Sometimes, people have the best of intentions for trying to pull you back from your dreams. People who really love you and don’t want to see you hurt or disappointed will tell you don’t go for that, it’s too much, what if you fail? Even though we all know that if you don’t attempt something, you can never succeed at it. Nevertheless, some people will still tell you not to try; ‘you should be sensible, practical… keep your feet on the ground and your head out of the clouds’. But ask yourself; is that really sensible advice?
Many of us may have heard other people saying, “Attitude is everything”. The story has been told many times of those who see their glass as “half full” where others may see theirs as “half empty”. You are who you say you are. I once heard a joke of a man who needed time off work. Realising that his boss would give him no more time, he decided to hang himself upside down from the ceiling in his office, by pretending to be a light-bulb. He reasoned that if the boss asked why he did this and hears his answer, the boss would immediately “know” that he wasn’t feeling well, and send him home for a few days…His boss came in, found him so, and requested an explanation. The man said “Can’t you guess I am the light bulb?” The boss, seeing this as an unusual action, felt the man mus t be stressed to the point of sickness, and could benefit from some rest, and so he sent the worker home. Our man’s colleague who had been watching the drama, promptly packed his bags also and was about to leave. When the boss asked where he thought he was going, he said “Now that the light bulb is gone, there’s no way I am working in the dark”… That may be a joke, but the reality is this, we all need to learn to take ourselves less seriously.
It is said that there is a demon and an angel living in everybody’s heart. Both of them are continuously striving to influence us. Those who listen to the angel become positive and those who listen to the demon become negative. A positive would look at the brighter side of life. He enjoys a bird’s flight. He would listen to birds’ twittering as if it were a song while the negatives would find it a noisy bedlam.
Have you ever gone to a sporting event and suddenly found yourself in the middle of a “wave”? It’s really tough not to join in. It’s fun and it really doesn’t cost you anything and you become part of a movement – literally. It’s the same thing when you are around a group of people who are either “up” or “down” emotionally. That really is the heart of this article. Attitude is infectious, and if you want a positive attitude look for people who exude that quality.
In a moment I will explain how you can easily develop your neutral state, it’s a powerful idea. But first…
The power of positive thinking can be seen all around you. This is a self-improvement tip that can bring you all kinds of success in your life. When you think positive about situations, you allow positive energy to enter into your life and you will more than likely make positive and good choices because of it.
I woke up this morning and decided today is the day.
